Juneau, Alaska is located in one of the largest wilderness areas in the United States.
Juneau is the capital city of the state of Alaska, and most travelers visit Juneau while cruising.
I love Juneau, and I wanted to share my Top Five things to do.
#1 Whale Watching
The whale watching is incredible in Juneau
#2 Mendenhall Glacier
There are many ways to see the Mendenhall Glacier. You can go on tour directly to the Mendenhall Glacier, go whale watching and see the glacier, and raft on the river that runs below the glacier. I have done rafting below the glacier, and it was great fun.
#3 Helicopter with Glacier landing
This is an incredibly unique way to see the glacier.
#4 Salmon Fishing
There are 5 different types of Salmon seen in Juneau; King, Coho, Sockeye, Chum, and Pink. Most anglers will fish by boat in Juneau, but there are some great shore fishing spots as well.
#5 Dog Sled Adventure
Learn the history of dog sledding, how they care for these amazing athletes, and experience the thrill of being pulled on a sled by pups.
Eateries in Juneau
I highly recommend dining at two places while in Juneau.

Check out their super tasty menu here. This spot is great for dining right on the seaside!
Red Dog Saloon –
Originating during the heyday of Juneau’s mining era, this world famous saloon has provided hospitality and fellowship to weary travelers and local patrons alike. See a Menu here.
